Sam Hammer is a professional surfer, born and raised in Lavallette, New Jersey. He has surfed for Billabong for 20 years and is currently sponsored by Billabong, Firewire surfboards and Kreedom Eye Wear. He has spent his career traveling to surf waves worldwide and is still often featured in Surfing and Eastern Surf Magazine as well as on Surfline.com, Whalebone.com and more. Hammer has also competed in various competitions over the years, including the ESPN X-Games and New Jersey Grudge Match. His expansive wave knowledge as well as understanding of weather patterns and swell make him one of the most notable surfers to come out of the East Coast. Most recently, he was featured in Under An Arctic Sky, a surf film captured during Iceland’s most severe blizzard to date, which was directed by Chris Burkhard and debuted at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival.
